I APPRECIATE YOU FOR MAKING MY DREAMS COME TRUE!

I APPRECIATE YOU FOR MAKING MY DREAMS COME TRUE!

On October 13, 2012 I was able to have footage shot for my breast cancer public service announcements. I would like to take this time to say thank you!

SHERWIN ROACH
ESDIAR Entertainment

I met Sherwin about two years ago.  I was walking back to work after my lunch break when I saw him taking pictures of birds.  He had a big camera and as I was walking past I thought to myself, “Girl, you know you’re going to need a photographer!”  I turned around, ran to him, spoke for a few minutes, and he gave me his business card.  We had a meeting, noticed we had common goals and I noticed his strengths where I had weaknesses.  He was someone I knew I had to work with.  Time passed and our schedules prevented us from getting together to create magic but with time and lot’s of patience, God made it possible for us to come together to create a beautiful project for breast cancer.  We are just getting started but between his projects and mine; you are sure to see great works from a wonderful mastermind, Mr. Sherwin Roach! I thank you Nah’Sheem and look forward to what God has in store for us!

KELLEN MARIE

When I was looking for a salon to shoot my public service announcement, Kellen was the first person to contact me.  She told me she knew a person that owned a salon with a breast cancer theme.  She spoke with the owner, connected us, and a meeting was set!  Had it not been for Kellen’s caring heart, the PSA would have been shot in a nice place but not the perfect place!  Kellen, I thank God for you and look forward to working with you in the future!

DREW & PRO CUTS ATL CREW

905 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive
ATLANTA, GA 30314

Kellen connected me with Drew, the co-owner of Pro Cuts Atl.  We spoke on the phone and a few days later I met with him at the barbershop/salon.  He was very receptive to my plans to shoot the psa and decided to tie it in with his breast cancer themed salon, Pro Cuts ATL DIVAS.  His goal is to have breast cancer information in the salon to give to the men and women in the community.  Like me, Drew believes that it takes a village to get things done and reach one, teach one!  He recognizes that breast cancer is still a condition that is not widely discussed in the black community.  Once he committed himself and barbershop/salon to the project, his entire staff was on board.  They were willing to help in any way possible.  I thank the staff at Pro Cuts.  I plan on being a permanent customer because when you’re at Pro Cuts, you’re at home.

COLA & PRO CUTS ATL DIVAS

905 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive
ATLANTA, GA 30314

When the original hairstylist wasn’t available, I received a call from Miss Cola.  Her enthusiasm shined through the phone.  She told me that she would love to participate in the psa and after our conversation I looked forward to meeting her.  When I walked into the salon, Cola knew it was me and gave me a warm heartfelt greeting.  It felt as if I was meeting a family member for the first time.  After speaking I realized how passionate she was about breast cancer and alopecia.  She wants all her client to look and feel beautiful.  She pays attention and goes above and beyond for her clients.  The hours I spent at Pro Cuts ATL DIVAS were the best I’ve ever had at a salon.  There is a positive energy there and I encourage you to make an appointment.  While Cola does cater to the needs of people with cancer and alopecia; she serves everyone.  Natural hair, weaves, eyebrows, and lashes are her specialty.  I thank you Cola for the treasured experience and I look forward to a long professional relationship.

TAMMY & ROBERT BOLTON- THE PINK FROG FOUNDATION INC

When I posted the need for volunteers for my event, Robert and Tammy Bolton jumped in to help. I went on their website, read their mission statement and knew they would be great assets to our breast cancer public service announcement.  The weekend of our shoot was a busy one and even though Miss Tammy had a prior engagement; she still stopped by and we were able to get great footage.  She also met with the breast cancer survivors and they had a very pleasant conversation.  I thank Miss Tammy and Robert Brown for their time and the beautiful things they are doing for breast cancer.  I will volunteer if they need me and look forward to a working with The Pink Frog Foundation in the future.

Reel Talk Rajheem Tv Show

When Rajheem found out what I was doing he was on board.  We exchanged numbers, had a brief conversation and I was emailing him my information.  He wanted to interview me for his show and while I like being in the background, I knew it was a positive thing to do.  When Rajheem arrived he brought a very positive energy with him.  His personality brightens things up and he makes the most uncomfortable person feel comfortable.  We had to do several takes because my nerves were shot but Rajheem was able to put me at ease and he conducted a wonderful interview.  I love the passion he has for the things he believes in.  I look forward to working with him again in the future.  Rajheem, I thank you for participating in my public service announcement for breast cancer and wish you well on all of your endeavors.

Finally, I would like to thank Miss Brown and the other survivors for sharing their stories.  Knowing they have survived such a terrible disease gave everyone that participated hope! They love God, are beautiful, and are living full lives.

There is life after breast cancer and together we can work on prevention and treatment.
